These healthy grafts are then placed into tiny incisions in the patient’s scalp. Surgeons must be incredibly precise, ensuring that the new grafts blend seamlessly with the existing hair follicles. In addition, they must distribute them precisely and gently, to ensure maximum hair graft survival.

Hair transplant surgery is a permanent surgery. The donor site in which the hairs are taken from is ensured to have DHT-resistant hair follicles. DHT is the androgen that causes hair loss. Once the follicles are transplanted, they retain their DHT-resistant properties. This means that they will continue to produce hair.
